A Definition for Proverbs
Webster defines the word proverb as a short saying in common use that strikingly expresses some obvious truth or familiar experience as well as a saying in which a profound truth is cloaked or hidden. Looking closely at the definition, it should be clear as to why wisdom is found in a proverb simply because it has its roots in truth. It is truth that produces wisdom. One can study and reason as far as they might desire but without truth wisdom will be lacking. It is truth that ensures proper understanding and judgement and so wisdom reveals itself. Because proverbs have their root in truth, much wisdom is found in proverbs. Study proverbs and think. It will increase your wisdom!
