Are you looking for peace, quiet and rest? There are many paths to follow IN life but only one to follow TO life which produces peace. The following is a short outline with a few sideline comments and definitions to aid the reader in finding a peaceful life. This outline will work for any pathway you follow whether it is finding peace, understanding, finding a mate, building a home or building a house (and there is a difference???), acquiring your needs, writing a book, finding a job, understanding God or anything else. The thing that most people do not realize is this: God is ALIVE and desires to guide us into a peaceful enjoyable life NOW but it takes our DECISION, COMMITMENT, ADMISSION, PRAYER, TIME, SEARCH, THINKING and DOING. If we pursue these, God will ensure it all comes to pass just as He promises. His promises are for TODAY. We need not concern ourself with the future. If we concern ourself with these things today, He will ensure our future. May God bless you as you follow Truth!
Decision and Commitment
A decision must first be made in the heart to find what is right and true no matter what the consequences. If a person remains true to this commitment, all the rest will follow as noted below. If a person does not follow this commitment then the rest will not follow. Reason: because peace is totally dependent upon right and truth and can only follow when right and truth is pursued.
Admission
Everyone thinks they know the truth but few do. It takes humility to admit we could be wrong and this admission opens the heart to pour out the old and find the new (right and truth). (Food for thought-If everyone knows the truth and they are doing it, why does the world keep going backwards?)
Prayer
A person next must go in search to find right and truth. The question may be where do I start? The answer must be by going to someone who KNOWS EVERYTHING and is totally trustworthy without fail. The question might be where do I find someone like that. The answer is GOD! Take a moment to ask YOUR Maker to help you and guide you in whatever matter of concern you have. He will hear and He will answer but probably not as you might imagine.
Time and Search
The answer to prayer will come with two things. Those two things are time and searching. First, it takes time as all things do if something is to be acquired. Secondly, it takes a search to find the right way and truth that will produce the peace or whatever you are searching to acquire. You might ask again where do I start? I would suggest you get a Bible and read chapters 5, 6 and 7 of St. Matthew in the New Testament. Read them and reread them. They will help you find direction. Then read the book of St. John in the New Testament to find who God truly is. Your Maker will open your eyes to see things you never knew. Once you have an understanding of who your Maker is and how He works, everything else begins to make sense. All of the issues of life as jobs, homes, houses, needs, mates and so forth can follow suit because it is our Maker that provides it all.
Thinking
A key element that ties all of the above together is thinking. Think, think and think! Think about what you read, study and learn continually. Thought is the process of the mind to see, recogonize and acquire new truths that guide us with hope and ensure success for that which we search.
Doing
As you learn it will be a must that you practice what you learn. If you refrain from doing what you learn, why learn it? It is the learning and doing that follows your commitment to bring the peace or whatever you long to acquire. If you learn right and do right, peace must come. It is inevitable but it all takes time.
